Roy Hogan, LCSW

Founder & Lead Clinician

Roy Hogan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with adults and couples struggling with anger, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions. Many of his clients are successful and capable in other areas of life but find themselves more reactive with people they love, carrying resentment or worry they cannot put down, or recognizing that experiences from the past continue to shape how they respond today. He has particular experience working with men who are accustomed to solving problems for everyone else but aren't always sure what to do when the struggle is their own.

Roy's approach is practical, engaged, and direct. Therapy with Roy is more than simply talking about what happened during the week. He helps clients understand the patterns beneath their reactions, identify what keeps those patterns going, and develop ways of responding differently in everyday life. His trauma-informed approach draws from CBT, DBT, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, attachment-based, Solution-Focused, and Strength-Based therapies.

Roy's clinical background includes providing mental health treatment to active-duty service members and military families with the U.S. Department of Defense in Stuttgart, Germany. At Johns Hopkins, he supported individuals and families navigating complicated pregnancies, fetal diagnoses, pregnancy and infant loss, grief, postpartum concerns, and significant medical uncertainty.

Roy provides online therapy in Utah, Idaho, Washington, Missouri, and Maryland. He works with young adults, adults, parents, and couples and accepts several major insurance plans. He offers a free 30-minute consultation for prospective clients to talk about what's happening, ask questions, and determine whether working together feels like the right fit.

Specialties & Approach

Roy works with adults navigating anxiety, anger and emotional reactivity, relationship difficulties, and patterns that seem to keep repeating despite their best efforts to change them. His work focuses on understanding what drives those patterns and developing practical ways to respond differently—in relationships, at work, and in everyday life.

Anxiety & Overthinking

For people whose minds don't shut off—worry, overthinking, reassurance seeking, perfectionism, and difficulty tolerating uncertainty.

Anger & Emotional Regulation

For men who are tired of being angry, irritable, reactive, or shutting down—and want to understand what's driving it and respond differently.

Relationships & Patterns

Understanding the patterns you bring into relationships, where they came from, and how to communicate, connect, and handle conflict differently.
